Update of the little one (Gwen)

Here are some recent pics of Gwen. Clearly she is doing her part for the environment - thanks to Amy for the outfit there. And yes, as creepy as it may be, we do like to watch her while she sleeps. Not to worry, when she is sleeping on her stomach, we make sure to be watching her. When she is in the crib at night, she is on her back (and usually not as happy). We have another dr appointment next monday (7/21), so I will have an updated weight then, but our last weigh-in was over 10 days ago and she was 7lbs 2ozs. We'll be pretty happy with a weight closing in on 8 lbs.

My parents were up here this past weekend - the first time that they were able to meet Gwen. I think that's the longest they've gone before first being introduced to their grandchild (just shy of 8 weeks). Of course it doesn't help that we're in Minnesota and they're in Chicago, or that Gwen spent the first 4 weeks out in Walnut Creek, CA, but all in all I think Nana and Pops were pretty happy with the weekend.

Before that, Amy (Ann's sister) was here for 10 days right after we got home from California. It was great to have her here to help while we were getting adjusted to life with a new baby. Even those times when she was just sitting on her computer watching Gwen helped us get our house in order.

We also managed to make a trip up to SugarCamp, WI to visit the Reynolds clan. Gwen was so happy to meet her friends Owen (Jack and Michelle Reynolds) and Sydney (Scott and Suz Hollingsworth), even if we only were up there for 2 nights. She survived a minor dock collapse and lots of flashes from cameras, as well as the 4 hour drive. But after her travel home from California, the 4 hours over the SugarCamp was nothing.
